Clients ask AI who to trust before they ask anyone for a referral.

An agency, a consultancy, a firm that sells to other businesses. The buyer's question is who's credible for this exact problem, and AI answers with names and a reason for each.

What one answer looks like

"fractional cfo firm for a manufacturing company"

Northgate Advisory

  • Harbor Ledger Partners
  • Northgate Advisory

Northgate Advisory and Harbor Ledger Partners are fictional. Your report has your competitors and what AI actually said.

Real questions, in plain words.

Examples of how clients phrase it. Your report uses the questions that fit your business, written with you.

  • “best fractional cfo firm for a manufacturing company”
  • “agencies that specialize in b2b paid media”
  • “who should we hire for soc 2 readiness”
  • “managed it provider for a 40-person accounting firm”
  • “consultants who have done erp migrations for distributors”
  • “executive search firm for a first-time head of sales”

Same service, different questions and sources.

Trust is the whole question.

Nobody asks AI for the cheapest consultancy. They ask who's credible for this exact problem, who's done it before, who's safe to put in front of the board. AI answers with named firms and a reason attached, so the reason matters as much as the name. The report quotes both.

Say who you serve, in writing.

Your pages have to say who you serve. An assistant matches you to a question only when they state who you work with and what for. A services page that says "we help businesses grow" gives an assistant nothing to repeat. Case studies and service pages that name the industry, the company size, and the problem are the first thing we look at, because they're the cheapest thing to fix.

Where the mentions come from.

Ask an assistant who's credible for a problem and the answer names firms and says why, and the why comes from somewhere: a trade publication, a directory profile, a LinkedIn page, a client's case study. The report shows the sources behind each answer to your clients' questions, so you know which pages are vouching for your competitors and which could vouch for you.

Copilot is on the list here.

Where your buyers spend the day inside Microsoft 365, Microsoft Copilot is one of the assistants that gets the question. We choose which assistants to focus on for each client based on where their buyers ask, and for a firm whose clients live in Outlook and Teams, Copilot is on that list from the start. The roadmap and the monthly service track it and tell you whether it names you.

AI names Pike more than any other firm. But only on 6 of the 25 questions attorneys, insurers and employers ask.

  • 19 of 25 buyer questions where Pike is never named.

Questions people ask

Because a referred client can check you with AI before the first call, and some do. The report shows what they'd see, word for word.

It makes the written record thinner, which is a real handicap. Anonymized case studies that still state the industry, the size, and the outcome give AI something to work with. The roadmap covers how.

It overlaps, and it isn't the same. Ranking a page and being named in an answer are different outcomes with different inputs. The report measures the second one.
